Simulation of a Two Gear Cipher Machine - MARK II
A Simple Two-Gear Cipher Machine
This simulation duplicates the action of the simpler two gear polyalphabetic cipher machine described in this article. It uses two wheels, a 25-tooth plaintext wheel and a 26-tooh ciphertext wheel. Enter the plaintext into the form and click "Encrypt", or enter the ciphertext and click "Decrypt".
Don't forget that the plaintext wheel in the machine has no letter q. Whenever that letter occurs, k will be substituted. If you forget to make that substitution this simulator will make the substitution for you.
